Did you know that GW from the beginning offered something to people who prefer to play alone? It starts with "hench" and ends with "men".
I guess evolving the idea of henches is bad because people won't play with you?
How about you blame the real source of the problem- people are dumb and bad, therefore pugs are bad.
Retarded pugs didn't want an assa back in factions, because "assas suck LOL" when I wanted to do Boreas Seabed, assa went with henches, capped BHA to interrupt the boss, finished the mission no problem with masters. When he went back the retarded pugs were still there. Good show.

Super awesome sweet. Embark beach seems a nice idea, its a real pain if you want to get somewhere like the ToA - and you are in your guild hall with a very excited team of 8 players waiting to do UW, but you can't all get there cus you have to split up to make it through LA! Doh! Good idea on the beach Anet.
Also, full team of heroes? Strap on my excited hat, Marjorie - I'm going for a swim.

TBH regarding the 1+heroes party; it should've been this way from the start of NF.
You either make sure people have to group (by NOT providing any heroes or hench), encourage them to (by giving more rewards for doing so), OR LET THEM DO WHAT THEY WANT (allow full heroes party). It's how Anet tends to do things half-way that really made the game feels as directionless as it is right now.
This is, imo, a good start.

Embark beach sounds great as long as they disable trade chat and the trade portion of the party window. Leave the spammers to fill up the Spamadan districts.
As for 7 heroes sounds good. Too bad I don't have 7 necro heroes . Seriously though there are many times when I have to get hench to do something that isn't very popular. Being able to take heroes would make it so much easier great.

Dumb and bad? That can be fixed. They just need some experience and tips if they are willing to listen.
Arrogant, non patient and self proclaimed elitists (and angry 12 year old kids) are what is keeping me away from pugging.
Example :
- Me :"Drop mm there are no corpses in this mission"
-Other pug guy : " FU NOOB" !!!
-Other pug guy : LFG mission duo discord"
-Me : " Let me just change heroes to discord, sec"
- Other pug guy : " FU NOOB" *leaves party*

Everyone is looking at the bigger picture, which is good. However you have to remember what has either triggered this update, or been the final straw to make them add it.
The War in Kryta quest line requires multiple players to be at the same point through the quests to play together. I've had Guild members playing through this and I can't team up with them because I'm not at the same point.
Therefore quite often people are left to play it alone which leads onto the next problem and that is high level content in areas of the game that don't have the henchmen to support it. I've seen multiple counts of people attempting the Battle for Lions Arch using level 10 henchmen which can cause a lot of problems. The ability for the player to take heroes instead would make these quests less tricky and more fun.
I can imagine that Arena Net are planning similar content for Cantha which could well suffer from the same problem which is why they want to introduce this update, and also to help along those people struggling with the War in Kryta.
Yes, an argument can be made for getting a PUG instead, but this has already been beaten to death in this thread and people have all kinds of different reasons not for grouping up with other random players.
The Emabrk Beach will help to find players at a similar point to you in the story without having to camp in a random outpost all the time waiting to see if someone appears. Also it is nice for the players that like to help out other groups by giving them one location to go to so they can see what groups to join, rather than wondering off to random outposts looking for people to help.
Unless people get really stuck I can see players working on the primary quest line and missions to still continue through as we currently do, visiting the outposts through the campaign as they complete missions. I can see the Embark Beach being used for non-primary things, particularly the Zaishen Missions & Bounties and everything the Guild Wars Beyond content providing.

I'm no expert on the UW, but Id imagine the horseman quest and micromanaging for dhuum might still be a tough prospect...I suppose with horseman if you were experienced enough and were the spirit spammer you could hold your side but the hero AI might make that too difficulty.
Look forward to trying it out in DoA, Deep, Urgoz and UW...Though I imagine the former will mean arms dropping even further...Which I don't really have a problem with. Otherwise I can't think of many areas I didn't already steamroll with H/H in Hard mode when vanquishing and the like.
PS: Sorrows is easy to do H/H and you can already do FoW NM (probably HM too with enough patience) with a spirit spammer and discord heroes (and thats plain old discord....)

I'm actually quite excited about Embark Beach. It really is a concept which should have been introduced far earlier in the game - I can see it as a place to go and just sit and see if anything anyone is doing takes your fancy.
Imagine, you're sitting there, don't really know what to do (I know this happens to people a lot, I know it does for me!) and so you decide to go and see whats up in EmB. You're sitting there and people are shouting out for various things, NM Vizunah Square, HM Gate of Madness etc. Then someone asks if anyone wants to help them with HM Northern Wall - you've done it, hell you've got Leg Guardian, but its been so long since you've seen the dusty foothills of Ascalon that you decide to tag along. Sounds all good to me.

I bought an online game to play with others, I find solo H/H mindnumbingly boring and 7 heroes will only make it easier and faster, it's not the kind of game improvement I expect from the devs, it's exactly the opposite way, soooo lame.
Way to go: Centralized easily accessible party search outpost for all kinds of content, reduction of heroes per player to 2, improve some henchmen a bit. /dreams

I think you're playing the totally wrong game. Guild Wars was marketed as a "Co-rpg" and its reasons for being labeled an MMO is only for convenience of the genre. But it is certainly not "massively multiplayer online".
tl;dr: You might wanna consider WoW

These quests - along with the MOX/Titan-stuff NEED to be made repeatable - just cut the rewards (NOT remove them, just reduce them) after one completes them for the first time. Especially in a game with such limited content as GW.

Thats why I thought it would be a good idea to get faction for the new content when it's in Cantha. There will always be people who need/want to farm faction with others just to get a break from the usual faction methods.

Thats not a half bad idea really. If the repeatable bounty quests gave 1000 Luxon and Kurzick points. And if they made certain quests give about 5k faction for the first completion and 1.5k faction for subsequent completions it might boost their popularity.
However, the possibility of repeatable quests outside of the bounties isn't something I think is entirely necessary. I have begun to see GW in a different light now its in its twilight stages, and I'm seeing the GW:B content as merely something which the player has to be taken through, and not necasserily be accompanied by other players - it is a way of telling the story. The same way that the consumables, PvE skills, 7 hero parties, Zbounties/missions/combats, are just ways of facilitating the cleaning up those final few titles/accomplishments which you need to reach before the inevitable happens sometime next year.
Whatever happens, I'm really enjoying my time in GW atm, I am grouping with guildies and alliance a lot more, the game is vibrant with energy (especially considering that the festival season is coming up! Halloween, thanksgiving, wintersday etc etc). Any further content is just a bonus, I don't really mind how it is implemented.
On a side note: I think really if the CiC quests are going to encompass the Luxon/Kurzick conflict then they are going to involve bringing the two sides together, not sure who they will be fighting though - I've never considered the Jade Brotherhood and Ahm Fa as anything more than bandits and thieves, not really with the organisation or connections to wage war on the same scale as the White Mantle (unless, of course, they joined forces in wake of the new threat posed by the Lux/Kurz alliance).

Q: How did you feel about the difficulty of the War in Kryta content?

For those interested, only 3.5% of people felt the content was entirely “too easy”, which may be attributed to their use of the super-secret asura battle-mechs.

I don't understand the problem with 7 heroes. Apparently ANet will provide a meeting place for all puggers and enhance game play for all solo players at the same time. That's a win/win situation at its finest.

Love what i see. Love that ANet ran this survey and are going to do something nice with it.
Still waiting for derv/scythe fix, paragon balancing and maybe tweaks to beast mastery, apart of overall game balancing.
I enjoy what i get, though.
